With the support of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah, the United States Trustee has been working with the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee to increase the availability of remote participation in bankruptcy §341 Meetings by videoconference.  In Phase Two, 8 additional counties have been added to the original 10 counties selected for inclusion in Phase One last year. This brings the total number of Utah counties selected for this progam to 18.  Individuals who do not elect to participate by videoconference will be required to attend their scheduled §341 Meeting in person in Salt Lake City. The terms and conditions set forth within General Order 19-001 will apply in all Chapter 13 cases filed in these 18 Utah counties: Beaver, Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Garfield, Grand, Iron, Juab, Kane, Millard, Piute, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier, Uintah, Washington and Wayne.

On July 9, 2019, the District of Utah's Facilities Security Committee voted unanimously to amend the existing District policy governing liquids in the courthouses. Beginning Monday, July 22, 2019, visitors and guests to the United States Courthouse and the Frank E. Moss United States Courthouse will not be permitted to bring any liquids, aerosols, or gels into the courthouses.

Visitors and guests attempting to enter with prohibited items will be asked to dispose of them in trash receptacles outside the courthouses. Empty water bottles will be permitted, and water will remain available at numerous drinking fountains throughout the courthouses. In addition, visitors to the United States Courthouse may purchase beverages at Roula’s Cafe or from the 6th floor vending machines. Visitors to the Frank E. Moss United States Courthouse may purchase beverages from vending machines located in the basement snack bar area. Visitors who leave with a beverage obtained inside the courthouse will not be permitted to reenter with it.

The Lead Court Security Officers are authorized to make exceptions if a prohibited item is determined to be necessary for child care, medical, or other special needs. Visitors should advise a Court Security Officer at the screening station if assistance is required.

Court employees and employees of other building tenants who display their building access cards are exempt from this policy. Petit and grand jurors who check in with the Court Security Officers are also exempt from this policy.

The courts recognize that this policy change may result in some inconvenience to visitors and guests, especially lawyers, members of the media, and others who regularly access the courts. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we modify our courthouses security policy to ensure the safety of our court staff and those who visit our federal courts.

On Saturday, June 1, 2019, beginning at 4:00 pm (MT) and lasting until around 8:00 pm (MT), Pay.gov will conduct a Disaster Recovery Exercise (DRE) and transfer production system operations from the contingency data center in East Rutherford, New Jersey (EROC) back to the primary data center in Dallas, Texas (DOC).

For ECF filers looking to make a payment via Pay.gov, you will experience a total interruption of services during the transfer of production system operations between data centers. If the system will be down longer than 4 hours, a notice will be added on the ECF system with further information about the DRE.
