Beginning June 1, 2023
In order to remain in active status within the District of Utah for the period of 2023-2024, attorneys are required to register with and submit a $30 annual registration fee to the U.S. District Court, District of Utah. This process must be completed between the dates of June 1, 2023, and July 1, 2023.
Online registration is mandatory for all Attorneys who practice in either the District Court and/or Bankruptcy Court, although the annual fee is waived for Federal Attorneys, as defined in the local rules of the Utah District Court DUCivR 83-1.1(b)(1).

In accordance with General Order 23-006 of the Utah District Court, active and federal attorneys who fail to register by July 1, 2023, will be unable to electronically file documents in this court as of July 2, 2023. In addition, their membership status will be changed to “registration lapsed,” and they will need to pay a reinstatement fee of $75.00 to reactivate their membership

The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit has appointed Peggy Hunt to the bankruptcy bench for the District of Utah, effective Friday, March 10, 2023.
Judge Hunt was previously the co-managing shareholder of the Salt Lake City office of the global law firm, Greenberg Traurig, LLP. She is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy and an American Bar Association Fellow. She was appointed to serve on the Utah Securities Commission. Judge Hunt also served as President of numerous professional and community organizations, including the Utah Bar Foundation, Women Lawyers of Utah, the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Utah Women’s Forum, and the Board of Advisors for the Utah Museum of Natural History. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
Honorable Joel Marker, Chief U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Utah, administered the oath to Judge Hunt this afternoon. Judge Hunt will have chambers in Salt Lake City.
