In order to be eligible for a bankruptcy discharge, all individual debtors are required to take an instructional course concerning personal financial management per 11 U.S.C. § 727(a)(11) and § 1328(g).  For a list of approved providers of personal financial management instructional courses (debtor education) per U.S.C. § 111, click here. After completing the course, all individual debtors must complete and file with the court Official Form B 423 Certification About a Financial Management Course [2]AND corresponding Certificate of Completion.

Chapter 13 Individual Debtors must also complete and file local form "Verification and Request for Discharge" [3] within sixty (60) days of the Notice of Completed Plan filed by the Chapter 13 Trustee.
